This is a field mounted process controller, suitable for Div. 1 hazardous area service. It  accepts a 4-20 mA signal proportional to flow, pressure, level, temperature, etc. and outputs a control signal of 4-20 mA. The output signal typically operates a control valve to maintain the input at the set-point.

Unique features to this design are the two external  push-buttons, which allow programming of the internal microprocessor non-volatile memory without opening the box.

Programming constants are set for tuning constants (Proportional, Integral and Derivative gains), scaling of the display to show engineering units, etc.

The push-buttons are also used to change the set-point, place the controller in Manual control and change the bottom 4-digit display to read either the set-point or the control output. The top 4-digit display always shows the process variable being controlled.

The PID (Proportional/Integral/Derivative) Controller is also furnished in a weather-proof  enclosure (NEMA 4X) with the same features.
